Churchill Crocodile? The trailer and odd shaped protrusion for the flame projector on the right of the hull's front are signifiers.

Well, as far as the unit markings go it's a Crocodile assigned to 79th Armored Division as part of the British Second Army, and in the 31st Tank brigade, 7th RTR B squadron / company.

If I wanted to repaint this the British green rather than keep it winter camo, which this appears to be, can you tell me what paint color I should use?

Re: Help ID this tank
The markings are confusing. '157' would match for 34th Tank Brigade and 147 RAC, a Churchill Regiment but not a Crocodile equipped unit. Though tank is marked as 79th AD. it also has the 2nd Army shield on the turret front. A 7 RTR vehicle would be marked as '993' as either a gun tank or when it converted to Crocodiles. However the Brigade/Rgt markings for 79th Armoured Division are almost impossible to completely decipher with certainty.

S.C.C. 15 Olive Drab is probably a good choice. You can search for images of it on the web.can you tell me what paint color I should use?

I wonder where the modeller found those markings ? Between the imaginary markings and the odd colour it is very "interesting".

This is how I obtained it, so I am not certain about the markings, or the color.

It is the kit markings. It appears that Tamiya used IWM photos B7601 to B7645 which is 44 photos of 34th Tank Brigade shot on 17 July 1944.Alanmccoubrey wrote: ↑16 Sep 2021 20:31I wonder where the modeller found those markings ? and that is where the kit decal 'Briton', '157' & the shields are sourced.

Re: Help ID this tank
Michael, Bless them then, perhaps an internet search, or heaven forbid looking in a book on the Crocodile, might have helped them.
