Sd Kfz 231 Heavy Reconnaisance Armored Car
Aufklarungs Abt 371
1.(schwere) Zug
7th Panzer Division
France, May 1940
The “eyes” of the Panzer Division were provided by the “Aufklarungs Abteilung” or reconnaissance unit. Every Panzer Division had one. In 1940 the first Company was designated “schwere” or heavy company and was made up of three six wheeled 231 armored cars and three eight wheeled 231 armored cars.
Basic model was made by a modeller in Barcelona Spain. You can contact him through his wife's FB account: Mercedes Pallares. For WIP images and many more images of the vehicle and crew, you can go to my FB page "Egonzinc 1/6"

Here some more images of the new crew I made for this vehicle and the vehicle probing "my countryside"!

One of the most realistic models I've ever seen.

Absolutely fantastic work! I had to do a double-triple take to realize it was a model. Only things that gave it away was the tires, too clean and no load on them. But seriously exceptional work!!!

What Shindenkai said. The figures are fantastic too - love the 'posing for a photo' look, commonplace on period photos.
The only thing I might question is the introductory passage. AFAIK 7th Panzer in France had a fairly standard AA with two standard armoured car companies, neither being 'heavy'. There was a heavy 'zug' (ie platoon) in each company with three SdKfz 231 and three SdKfz 232 (the 232 being the same basic vehicle as 231, but equipped with radio). While these could be 6-wheelers or 8-wheelers, I doubt that the two chassis types would be mixed in the same platoon because that just causes logistical problems. Of course in practice all sorts of things happened so I don't dismiss what you wrote - it's just a question.
