What was your first scale model to assemble ?
If I remember well, was a family gift when I was 7 or 8, a North American F-100 Super Sabre of ' Thunderbirds ', by The Lindberg line.
A model with low quality and bad decals, that together with my lack of expertise then, turned out to be a total disaster.
That photo of the box brings back good memories.
I also remember that the 'circus aspect' of the plane did not convince me at all.
Now it is a rare vintage model to get.

One of my first, the Aurora Spitfire

When I was also seven or eight
Supposedly my namesake, my mother's brother, who was in the RCAF and killed late in WWII, flew Spitfires.
Years later I received his logbook after my grandmother passed away. Alas, he never flew Spitfires.

Hello
My first, the Airfix Boston 1:72 scale.
Got it from my older brother, when I was on holiday at his house. was 10 or 11 years old at the time.
Build it right out of the box, no paint, played with it a lot, but it was "destroyed" at the end - shot at it with my air rifle
Regards

Airfix Panther and the 'Armoured Car 234' (in reality a fantasy SdKfz 233/4). I was 6, I think (ie AD 1966). Mum needed peace and quiet on a rainy day. Glued together on my grandparents dining room table. Still have them, still serve in my 'armed forces'

A blame my mum and this seminal moment for my life-long wargaming aberration!
PS I recall the Douglas Boston as a particulalry nice kit to build - alas I have no idea what happened to mine.

I can remember a "Frog" Finnish F2A Brewster Buffalo in 1/72 scale or possibly a ''Aurora'' F7F Tigercat and watching ''Combat'' on TV

The 1/48 scale Olin (Later Lindberg) F-86D and F-80. molden in light gray, looking pretty in the box. Canopies were in same gray plastic as the whole kit.
