RAF camo schemes

Post by tonyh » 15 Oct 2002 15:04

Hi I am looking for some info on RAF camo schemes for the Spitfire.

In 1939 the standard fighter camoflauge was dark brown/dark green upper and black port and white starboard under surfaces. When in 1939 did this change to dark brown/dark green upper and sky type S under surfaces?

Also when in late 1940 did the camo scheme of dark brown/dark green upper and Sky type S with a black starboard wing get introduced?

And one last last question. When in 1941 did the standard camo of Dark green/sea grey upper and light grey under surface get intorduced.

Thanks for any information

Tony
