Max Williams, "SS Elite, Volume I"

Postby Michael Miller » 13 Sep 2017 17:23

I know there are already other threads on this book, but I wanted to create a stand-alone post so that I could shout from the rooftops about it's greatness.
It is an unqualified masterpiece. Max has set the bar so high with this series that it will surely never be surpassed. I only just received my copy, but within two minutes of cracking it, I deduced that it is at the pinnacle of Third Reich biographical photo presentations. I have not been this excited by a book since Yerger's Allgemeine-SS (1997), which inspired me to begin my own work toward publication.

Max, very belated but deeply sincere congratulations on the fruits of your tireless work.

Totally agree. I suspect these are an revision of SS Leadership Corp from the same author. The pictures are the best I have seen for SS leaders.

One addition I would like to see is more details on the General's achievements. Especially the Waffen-SS Generals.

I also cross reference the biographies with your Gauleiter books.

Should Ferenc Feketehalmy-Czeydner and Jenö Ruszkay-Ranzenberger be included?

Back to my question both of those Hungarians were Obergruppenfuhrers.
