I obviously did not read this as-yet unpublished book. However, the claims made by the authors as to Kammler's alleged survival and postwar utilization by the Allies strike me as fantastical and contrary to eyewitness testimony as recounted in Andreas Schulz & Dr. Dieter Zinke, Die Generale der Waffen-SS und der Polizei, Band 2.

Forum member steve248, a skilled and accomplished researcher, writes:

Kammler was a management specialist. He dealt in architectural questions at WVHA including the building specifications for the Auschwitz crematorium building that included the gas chambers in 1942. In 1944 made responsible for the V-2 missile firings and in 1945, added jet fighter production to his list of jobs trying to mesh men and materiel. A forlorn task in 1945 because Germany did not have the fuel to allow flight operations.
And why would Kammler be treated any different to Speer who was also doing as similar job in Germany industry. Speer was widely interrogated before being released for trial."

"I was given an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review of the book . The Hidden Nazi sits in a genre of WW2 books which I don’t often read. At times I find that books of this nature can be hard to follow or are devoid of energy and pace but this book is different. Dean Reuter, Colm Lowery and Keith Chester have done a great job researching and writing this book. Hans Kammler was instrumental in many of Germany’s WW2 building projects for the Third Reich. He helped engineer the most diabolical and efficient killing machines, the Nazi regime’s concentration camps. With ruthless efficiency this ‘old hand Nazi’ was instrumental in Germany’s ability to carry out the holocaust and other war crimes and this places him amongst some of the top henchmen of Hitler and Himmler. One thing I should add about the lists of unit commanders: the book had to be frozen in time several years back so the publisher's contract copy guy could work it into the space saving format in which it was published, so no more amendments could be made. Now I have found much info to update the commanders of all units from divisions to theater commands in the meantime, and if you as a buyer of my book see some-thing in a unit's command that isn't complete you can contact me at [email protected] because I have the current updates that our superstars such as Askropp, Dieter, Histan, Iggy88, etc. have posted in the Axis Biographical Research subforum.

Great- as long as you're only interested in their superior commands and movements during the battles/war. I don't have division TOEs (as a former sailor I'm pretty ignorant of those) and the commanders will be listed in our second book on the divisions, where my coauthor Dr. Tom Nutter will probably do division TOEs.

I have now finally got the book Red Wings in the Winter War in my hands - as all authors know, it is a great moment to see and feel the result of several years (in fact decades...) of work!

I have been asked what is new in this book compared to Red Stars Vol. 7 - the Winter War in the Air (published as a bilingual English/Finnish book by Finnish Apali in 2011, and translated into Russian "VVS RKKA na Zimnej Vojne" in 2014).

The new book Red Wings in the Winter War is an English-only edition published by MMP Books Stratus, Poland, 352 pages including 24 color profile pages.
