I obviously did not read this as-yet unpublished book. However, the claims made by the authors as to Kammler's alleged survival and postwar utilization by the Allies strike me as fantastical and contrary to eyewitness testimony as recounted in Andreas Schulz & Dr. Dieter Zinke, Die Generale der Waffen-SS und der Polizei, Band 2.

Forum member steve248, a skilled and accomplished researcher, writes:

"No doubt another speculative 2+2 = 35.
I wonder whether the authors have answered the question 'what did he have to offer?'
Because the answer is not very much
Kammler was a management specialist. He dealt in architectural questions at WVHA including the building specifications for the Auschwitz crematorium building that included the gas chambers in 1942. In 1944 made responsible for the V-2 missile firings and in 1945, added jet fighter production to his list of jobs trying to mesh men and materiel. A forlorn task in 1945 because Germany did not have the fuel to allow flight operations.
And why would Kammler be treated any different to Speer who was also doing as similar job in Germany industry. Speer was widely interrogated before being released for trial."

Hi everyone, here are a few more advanced praises we received for our book The Hidden Nazi: The Untold Story of America's Deal with the Devil

“The Hidden Nazi by Dean Reuter is a stunning achievement. This tightly drawn portrait of SS General Hans Kammler takes the reader from his personal life as recalled in interviews with his son through his notorious work supervising construction of underground factories like Mittelwerk-Dora, where Wernher von Braun’s V-2 rockets were built, and at Auschwitz where this ruthless Nazi perfected the gas chambers. Throughout the book Reuter tells a riveting tale of horror, ending with Kammler’s escape from justice. But where to? Finally, I must complement the researchers Colm Lowery and Keith Chester for collecting a massive treasure trove of documents that made this excellent book possible.”
Author: Linda Hunt, Investigative Reporters & Editors Award–winning author of Secret Agenda: The U.S. Government, Nazi Scientists and Project Paperclip, 1945 to 1991.

“Justice delayed is justice denied? Not in this case. At long last, and at the skillful hands of Dean Reuter, aparticularly nasty Nazi has been brought before the bar of history for a lasting sort of justice—the measured but stern judgment of a meticulous historian.”
Author: George F. Will, Pulitzer Prize–winning columnist.

Thank you very much for your interest and support!

Best wishes
Colm

Hi All, The Hidden Nazi: The Untold Story of America's Deal with the Devil - the new book on SS General Hans Kammler - is now available for sale. Here are some of the five star reviews received so far on Amazon.com;

5 stars A Must Read
Dean Reuter and team have authored a thrilling and original contribution to the history of World War II. While you might think there isn't much new ground to cover in a subject area that has been written about so extensively, they do so in this deeply researched, yet briskly moving book. This is a must read for all who enjoy World War II and American history, as well as those who simply want to add a good read to their bookshelf. Five stars!

5 stars - WOW
"Riveting is an understatement. The fact that we have known zero about Kammler until now makes it all the more compelling. Reuter’s writing style keeps this rolling throughout like a hijacked train."

5 stars - Incredible read
Great read. Such an incredible story that is told in a way that keeps you turning pages.

5 stars - Amazing writing and a gripping journey on the hunt for the truth
"I was given an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review of the book . The Hidden Nazi sits in a genre of WW2 books which I don’t often read. At times I find that books of this nature can be hard to follow or are devoid of energy and pace but this book is different. Dean Reuter, Colm Lowery and Keith Chester have done a great job researching and writing this book. Hans Kammler was instrumental in many of Germany’s WW2 building projects for the Third Reich. He helped engineer the most diabolical and efficient killing machines, the Nazi regime’s concentration camps. With ruthless efficiency this ‘old hand Nazi’ was instrumental in Germany’s ability to carry out the holocaust and other war crimes and this places him amongst some of the top henchmen of Hitler and Himmler. He oversaw the construction and manufacture of the Vergeltungswaffen (Vengence weapons V1 & V2) as well as other prototypes for advanced rockets. Documents uncovered in the trios research also show that we was involved in the research of nuclear weapons and long range ballistics that could deliver them to other continents. The teams volume of research is immense and at times groundbreaking. The story reads beautifully and each new piece of evidence pulls you along through the pages as you join the search for the next piece of the puzzle in the ultimate search for Kammler. I have thoroughly enjoyed the book and learned much of the role of Kammler and the SS in the research and development of weapons that played their part in the war and the space race in years to come. Dean Reuter’s writing is superb, he draws you in and takes you on an adventure as the team work towards finding the truth behind what happened to Dr Hans Kammler. A great book and one you will want to add to your library"

Many thanks

Hope I'm complying with what is wanted about books published by members- my book (coauthor Dr Tom Nutter) "German Ground Forces Orders of Battle, World War Two" just came out. Here's the link to the description at the SavasBeatie website:

https://www.savasbeatie.com/german-grou ... ay-8-1945/

As I've been working on the research since 1985 and had a contract since 2013 I'm really excited to see it finally come out. We plan a second book doing all the divisions.

One thing I should add about the lists of unit commanders: the book had to be frozen in time several years back so the publisher's contract copy guy could work it into the space saving format in which it was published, so no more amendments could be made. Now I have found much info to update the commanders of all units from divisions to theater commands in the meantime, and if you as a buyer of my book see some-thing in a unit's command that isn't complete you can contact me at [email protected] because I have the current updates that our superstars such as Askropp, Dieter, Histan, Iggy88, etc. have posted in the Axis Biographical Research subforum.

Great- as long as you're only interested in their superior commands and movements during the battles/war. I don't have division TOEs (as a former sailor I'm pretty ignorant of those) and the commanders will be listed in our second book on the divisions, where my coauthor Dr. Tom Nutter will probably do division TOEs.

Season's best to you and a happy 2020.
Best,

Worked on this book for several years ascertaining the Allied side of attacks.
Finally done.
The least political German memoir of the submarine war yet encountered.
Available at the usual places.

Hello,
I have now finally got the book Red Wings in the Winter War in my hands - as all authors know, it is a great moment to see and feel the result of several years (in fact decades...) of work!

I have been asked what is new in this book compared to Red Stars Vol. 7 - the Winter War in the Air (published as a bilingual English/Finnish book by Finnish Apali in 2011, and translated into Russian "VVS RKKA na Zimnej Vojne" in 2014).

The new book Red Wings in the Winter War is an English-only edition published by MMP Books Stratus, Poland, 352 pages including 24 color profile pages.

The basic material is naturally the same, but the book is entirely updated and expanded, all material of Red Stars Vol. 5 (Soviet Naval Air Force in the Winter War) is integrated and rewritten to the Red Stars Vol. 7 format.

Note: While Red Stars Vol. 7 described "only" the Red Army Air Force (VVS RKKA), the new book describes both Red Army Air Force AND Baltic Fleet Air Force - VVS RKKA and VVS KBF.

The new book includes lots of new material (both text and photos) and a new 35-pages chapter dealing with the operations of the Finnish Air Force, including a new section with so far unpublished information about the international assistance to the Finnish AF in the Winter war) is added.

Good day all,

I would like to take this opportunity and introduce to everyone my new book, Rampant Lion , chronicling the life of Eduard Ritter von Schleich, the WWI flying ace. It has taken some five years to get to this point, and I have to say that I am quite excited about the finished product! At this point I would like to describe the book in detail, in order to let all of you all know what has been included between the covers:

Product Details:

Hardcover: 389 pages
Author: Darren J. Whiteside
Publisher: A & S Publishing (March 31st, 2007)
Language: English
ISBN-13: 978-0-9791946-0-3
ISBN-10: 0-9791946-0-1
Product Dimensions: 8.75 x 5.75 x 1.25 inches
Shipping Weight: 1.50 pounds
Price: $29.95 US

The book contains the following:

1) Over 150 black/white and color photos - some never before published.
2) The most complete list to date of von Schleich’s aerial victories, developed from his military records, personal accounts, and combat reports. Victims are mentioned when known. Maps are also included showing the claim locations.
3) Many translated personal narratives, written by von Schleich himself, regarding his many aerial combats. His flight in a captured French Spad, a dogfight where he was out-numbered 24 to 1, and his ‘triplet’ (when he scored three victories during a single engagement), are just some of his exploits covered.
4) A comprehensive listing of all military assignments, which spanned nearly 40 years. His awards and decorations have also been assessed during this same period.
5) Von Schleich’s post war and World War II careers are covered in detail, including many interesting facts about the early German airlines, as well as the birth of the German Air Force (the Luftwaffe).
6) His friends and acquaintances over the years are discussed at length, presenting a human side to this sometimes larger-then-life military figure.
7) The military units he commanded are examined thoroughly. The reader will get to know not only the structure of these units, but also a little about his flying companions from both world wars.
8) His family background, social affairs, and professional aspirations are also given fair treatment, with many new revelations regarding both the personal difficulties and triumphs of the ‘Black Knight’.
9) Thorough note sections, a bibliography, and a complete index are provided, allowing the reader to cross-reference a great majority of information presented in the text.

Please visit my website at http://www.rittervonschleich.com for a short biography on von Schleich, along with book ordering information. I accept PayPal, money orders, and certified checks. No personal checks please.

If you have already visited my website, you will notice that I plan to donate ALL my profits to the United States Civil Air Patrol. This is a very good youth organization, teaching children about both the theory and practice of flight, along with educating them about the rich history of aviation. I owe much of who I am today to this organization.

I am currently offering my book for an introductory price of $24.95 US to all who purchase it during the pre-publication phase. My printer has informed me that the book will be ready by mid to late March of this year. I am also offering FREE shipping for all US orders (media mail only). International orders will be shipped Global Priority at a reduced cost of $6.50 US during this period as well.

My business email address is [email protected]

Thank you for your time,

Darren
Dear Darren,

I'm looking for your book but it's currently unavailable.
Do you know how I can do to buy one?
I'm dealing with the German military mission in Romania in 1940-1941, in which Schleich was chief instructor for the Romanian fighters.

Very best regards,
