Has anyone read or bought "Georg Tessin: Verbande und Truppen der deutschen Wehrmacht und Waffen SS"?

Does anyone know the price of this huge work (in €) and where it can be bought.

Best regards,

Snorre,

Detlev Niemann has it for sale:
Tessin "Verbände und Truppen der Deutschen Wehrmacht und der Waffen-SS 1936-1945"[1178] II Eur 870 $ 757 £ 545
Brilliant standard reference books ( 21 Volume set !) to check on German units. The books are ordered in numeric way from 1 - X,so you check for Inf.regt.106 and you look into this chapter and have all infos about this unit, subunits, superior Division, where located, etc. Also special books for the named units, like "Großdeutschland" or all the battle groups,Wehrkreise, etc.

I have the whole set and the volume covering between wars data as well. I'd guess between $800-$1000 depending what dealer and country you buy from. I think 15 vols in the WWII set though I lack the final addendum volume that I believe came out.

I should have got up and looked first, forgot thet vol. 16 is 4 parts. Including the addendum vol, $745 is a very good price. Most healers in the USA get $55-$60 dollars per volume. The 4 part vol. 16 covers Wehrkreis and area commands outside Germany.

I have a copy of all the volumes literally. I borrowed ever volume via interlibrary loan, then photocopied every page. I used the photo copy machines and binding equipment at the govt agency I worked at, and of course did it all on the clock!

Jim

I have the original books but your way sounds better. Sounds like a better use of tax money than most of what the gov't does !!

Hi,

I find it quite expensive throught the German book-shops. Does anyone know if I can obtain Tessin via a British or American shop???

Regards,
