Johannes Hürter's Hitlers Heerführer does that for a group of 20 generals. He picked high ranking generals involved on the Eastern Front.

I recently posted my 25 year old (1997) MA thesis "Conscription, Mobilization and Training of Red Army Enlisted Personnel 1939-1945" on my academia.edu site.

Note that this was written before access to the Soviet military archives became possible. However, I believe it is still of interest in part as it may help explain some of the situation regarding today's Russian army.
