Many many years ago I remember reading a very interesting book about German photo reconnaissance on the eastern front. I've been searching for the title of this book for several years, but still no luck. I do remember one chapter was about how badly the US tried to obtain the Luftwaffe's entire stash of recon photos of the Soviet Russia. You would think with such a specific definitive subject like this it would be an easy book to find, but no luck. If anyone remembers this book or came across it I would be most grateful.

Hi there!
If you don't already know of him
then look for Theodor Rowehl.
Probably the number 1 on eastern
aerial recon. Here's the wiki link
to him.
There's a few book references too. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodor_Rowehl
