Book question: Ernst Klee “Personenlexikon”

#1

Post by J. Duncan » 17 Apr 2019, 14:46

Hello all,
I wanted to know if this book is a good reference source or if anyone values this book as a reference? It appears to be although it is a German book. I’m thinking it’s a more thorough “who was who” kind of book, better than ones in English (Snyder, zentner, wistrich) but I could be wrong. It’s not very expensive so I’m thinking about getting a copy from Germany. Thanks in advance to those who respond.

interesting with short bios (with some mistakes) Klee +++ much better than Stockhorst ++ Wistrich +

I recommand these 3 one : The nazi Elite Smelser/Zitelmann (23 bios), Die braune Elite II Smelser/Zitelmann, Syring (21 bios) and Die SS Elite unter dem Totenkopf Smelser/Syring (30 lebensläufe)
Best regards

Georges

I will recommend":

"Das deutsche Führerlexikon 1934-35". Teil 1. 1935;

Degener, Herrmann A. L. (Hg.).: Wer ist 's? Eine Sammlung von rund 18 000 Biographien mit Angaben über Herkunft, Familie, Lebenslauf, Veröffentlichungen und Werke, Lieblingsbeschäftigung, Mitgliedschaft bei Gesellschaften, Anschrift und anderen Mitteilungen von allgemeinem Interesse. Auflösung von ca. 5000 Pseudonymen. X. [10.] Ausgabe. Vollkommen neu bearbeitet und bedeutend erweitert. 1935;

Bernd Diroll: Personen-Lexikon der NSDAP. Band 1: SS-Führer A - B. Patzwall, Norderstedt 1998.
