Has anyone read this book ? Seems very interesting

I read it. I thought it was a good book, well researched although it is a family study of an SS “regular” . The doctor first joined the party as an SA Mann under Maikowski sturm. He tried to keep his SS past hidden. Grandson digs it up.

Can you tell me to which SS branch belonged ? In accordance with the book cover is a SD/Sipo man ( but may not be him )

He was in the SD. Grandson refers to him as an “SD spook” while he goes into the history of the organization. Unfortunately I do not own the book for quick consultation (my local library has it so I never bought it). Book is basically a personal history of an individual with historical commentary added to show the larger picture.
Book is cheap now (used) so I should get a copy.
