Doctors of Death set of 4..

#1

Post by Mark in Cleveland, Tn. » 16 May 2019, 02:58

Started to re-read this set this week, with #1... Have had the set for quite awhile and have read them way back many years ago, now want to refresh information. From what I remember, each vol. has some very interesting tid bits about the SS in various camps.

I read these years ago too. The two volumes I found were interesting were the ones on Brandt and Hirt. Not sure how factual they were (weren’t these translated from French?). Not sure about sources but they were written in that sensationalistic style common for the time period. I think the one on Hirt was titled “The Master Race” ...there was a volume on Mengele - and maybe Sigmund Rascher as well?

You are correct on all counts. Yes, translated and sine they were published most all of the details have been proven to be factual. I liked the little paragraphs concerning SS Doctors getting arrested by their own SS while in duty in camps, for some stealing charge, or having sex with an inmate..and then getting shot hours before the Nazis ran away from the camp in question, bahaha, just desserts or Karma at it's best.

Boolk #1 is about Brandt, his travels up to final judgement at War Crimes Trial and execution. What is surprising is the comments made that he did not deserve to be executed, as he was a *good SS Doctor* in the camps he was stationed in!!!lol

Not referring to this books, as I don´t know them. But referring eg. to books published by the Auschwitz Museum & Memorial.

????? I do NOT think just because a book iks published it is 100% factual, hell, like these Third Reich dealeres (the helmet and dagger guys, they publich a book with all their fake crap relics in the, bahahaha..what IO meant in the Dr.s of Death books is that most all of the stories inj them have since been verified as true facts, by other books-accounts, you know, history1,,, we cannot take one account of an event as gospel , right my fellow AHF member.?

I've not seen these books before. They look interesting but could you tell me if each volume is about a specific doctor (i.e mention above that Vol 1 is about Brandt) or do they each cover various people involved in that position in the camps/T-4 programme?

Thanks Mark

I believe that are different texts, or perhaps a compendium in 3 Vol

The same happens with these old 3 volumes "History of the Gestapo"
