Good evening Marcus,

I'm looking for historical publication about german divisions that were deployed in south Britanny (France) between 1940 and 1944. I have already identified the 205 ID, the 265 ID, the 275 ID. Maybe you might know something interesting about those units.

Furthermore, I would like to know if someone has already issued in english a good book about the general organisation of the Wehrmacht, its units, the services in french occupied territories.

There is a history of 205 Infanterie, but almost impossible to find. Very easy to find, however, is a picture book.

http://www.amazon.de/Die-205-Infanterie ... 3895553794

No histories of the other two divisions, sadly. :(

Geshicte der Aufklarungs-Abteilung (tmot) 18 - 18 Infanterie Division (tmot) wom 24.8.1939 bis 1.10.1942 - Jeffke G.W., Selbest, Munster 1992

I want to add this to the list of unit histories and also want obtain a copy of this book.

English translation:

History of Reconnaissance Battalion (tmot) 18 - 18 Infantry Division (tmot) - from 24.8.1939 until 1.10.1942 - Jeffke G.W., Selbestverlag, Munster 1992.

What does (tmot) mean?

Thanks for any assistance.

I need a unit history of the 18th Reconnaissance Battalion of the 18th Infantry Division.

Another web site (Lexikon der Wehrmacht) shows this book:

Geschichte der Aufklärungs-Abteilung (tmot) 18 - 18. Infanterie-Division (tmot.) vom 24.08.1939 bis 1.10.1942 - G. W. Jeffke, Hrsg., Selbst, Münster 1992

I did not see this book in the unit histories listed on this website.

I would appreciate any leads for this book.

I have tried several websites of book sellers with no luck. I even wrote a letter to someone in Münster with the same name as the author (G.W. Jeffke). No response. I was able to get another of his books on a predecessor unit, the 8.Reiter.Regimenter. I have a P.08 pistol with unit markings of the 8. Reiter-Rgt.

Excellent, incredibly-detailed book. Well worth investing in - and I think it's a limited edition, so snap up a copy sooner rather than later.

Hello Jan,

I just joined when I saw your post on Mr. Baden and found out what he has written. I was wondering if you know if he is still alive. I am trying to find out about my father's service with the 26th PD in Italy.
