Officer evaluations before 1940

#1

Post by Mori » 22 Jul 2019, 14:24

Hello all,

Has anyone seen officer evaluations prior the beginning of the war, i.e., for the 1930-1939 period?

The officer cards in the T78 R883+ series only record evaluations from the war years.

Thanks

Yes

They are contained in the Personalakten of the relevant officer - anyone in particular?

I have checked the PERS 6 (Personalakten) of various officers and no evaluation prior to 1940 are there. But would there be another series?

For example, I'd like to check Guderian's evaluations.

I have checked those that I have - obtained from NARA.

The ones that I have seem to be for the three GFM who retired before the war and were re-activated - von Rundstedt, von Leeb, and von Kleist.

I came to the same conclusion; but even for Rundstedt there are only a few pre-WW1 evaluation reports, nothing for the 1920s. He might have been too high to be evaluated, though.
