Encyclopédie de l'Ordre Nouveau - Hors-série - NSDAP / SS / SA / NSKK / NSFK Partie I

Grégory Bouysse is pleased to announce the release of his new book (first of a new series!): « Encyclopédie de l'Ordre Nouveau - Hors-série - NSDAP / SS / SA / NSKK / NSFK Partie I”.

While the names of Himmler, Göring, Goebbels, Hess, Speer and others are well known to historians and even to a certain extent to the general public, it is not necessarily the same for more secondary figures of the Nazi Party and of its various organizations, for which it is very difficult to find reliable and exhaustive information. Anglo-Saxon and German authors have started to explore this subject, but their audience in French-speaking countries remains confidential. This book (and the volumes that will follow) aims to remedy this historiographical gap. In this volume are therefore gathered 181 dignitaries of the Third Reich (letters A, B and C), and nearly 300 photos.

The book is available on Amazon, and Lulu.
IMPORTANT: This book is probably one of the last available on both Lulu.com and Amazon. Subsequently, the author intends to publish his future works only on Amazon (but his author Lulu page will remain online).

Below are the organizations studied and the criteria that we have retained for their inclusion in this dictionary:

-The NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei): more simply known as the “Nazi party” in our regions. The "umbrella" organization, which brings together all the others. And whose ultimate leader is of course the Führer, Adolf Hitler.
Included are the titles / ranks of Reichsleiter (highest in the party hierarchy, after the Führer), Gauleiter (regional party officials, head of a Gau, the regional subdivision of the NSDAP), and Stellvertretender Gauleiter (i.e. Gauleiter deputy). Also included are the Gauleiter (and Stellvertretender Gauleiter) of pre-Anschluss Austria.

-The SS (Schutzstaffel): the best known of the organizations of National Socialist Germany. Founded in April 1925, initially in charge of the close protection of Adolf Hitler, the SS became over the years a state within a state, accumulating skills and missions and moving from the stage of a small group to that of a huge organization, with ramifications in other countries via the Waffen-SS during the war. Gradually, its fields of activity multiply. It has a political function, in particular through the Allgemeine-SS, repressive with the RSHA and the control of the concentration camps, ideological and racial through the Lebensborn and the Ahnenerbe, military after the creation in 1934 of the SS -VT, known as Waffen-SS from 1940, and also became an economic empire. Entirely devoted to Hitler, it was led for almost all of its existence by Heinrich Himmler. From 1940 the SS had foreign branches and Waffen-SS units were formed from around thirty nationalities (although only a handful were generals, and therefore come within the scope of this study).
The holders of ranks equivalent to generals are studied: Brigadeführer, Gruppenführer, Obergruppenführer, Oberst-Gruppenführer and Reichsführer-SS. And this for all branches of the SS: Allgemeine-SS (General SS), Polizei and Waffen-SS.

-The SA (Sturmabteilung): the shock troops of the party, whose role and permanent activism were crucial during the years before the seizure of power and at the beginning of the Third Reich. After June 1934, and the elimination of several of its main leaders during the night of the Long Knives, the influence and role of the SA tended to gradually diminish in favor of the SS. From September 1939 and until the end of the war, the SA continued to exist, but its role was henceforth more honorary and internal than anything else (in particular due to the decrease in staff following the mass mobilization) .
The holders of ranks equivalent to generals are studied: Brigadeführer, Gruppenführer, Obergruppenführer, Stabschef der SA and Oberster SA-Führer (or acting de facto).

-The NSKK (Nationalsozialistische Kraftfahrkorps): The NSKK was founded on April 20, 1931 by the transformation of the NSAK but remained an auxiliary body of the SA until October 25, 1933, when it became a fully-fledged SA formation. On August 23, 1934, the NSKK absorbed the motorized SA and became an independent body within the NSDAP. The NSKK is responsible for all activities related to motor vehicles (transport, mechanics, car and motorcycle clubs, etc.). During the war the NSKK accepts to receive foreign volunteers who form national units with a framework mainly made up of German officers.
The holders of ranks equivalent to generals are studied: Brigadeführer, Gruppenführer, Obergruppenführer and Korpsführer.
-The NSFK (Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps): the NSFK was founded on April 15, 1937 to succeed the Deutscher Luftsportverband (the German Air Sports Association); the latter had been active during the years when a German air force was prohibited by the Treaty of Versailles. The organization of the NSFK was closely linked to the paramilitary organization of the SA. During the first years of its existence, the NSFK helped train military aviation on gliders and private planes.
The holders of ranks equivalent to generals are studied: Brigadeführer, Gruppenführer, Obergruppenführer, Ehrenführer1 and Korpsführer.

-The Wehrmacht, with its three branches: Heer (army), Luftwaffe (air force) and Kriegsmarine (navy). Not included as such in this study, but many regime executives also served in one or other of its branches, so their role is minimally studied. When a soldier has received a notable decoration, this is indicated with an abbreviation: RK (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuz), DKG (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold), DKS (Deutsches Kreuz in Silber) are the most common.

Hello

To be honest, my books are mainly for a French audience , or people familiar with latin languages and not english.

For english audience there is already the books of Michael D. Miller or Max Williams, for exemple. Of course our way of working/writing is a little bit different, but the goal is the same.

So i think for an English speaker only, books of Michael D. Miller are better.

Sorry, i don't sell myself very well....

M. Miller choose to write books by organization (Gauleiter, SS, SA, etc).

Me i choose to do by alphabetical order (A, B, C...) . My biographies are written more ...."biographically", but they have a little bit less details .

For exemple, if Sepp Dietrich was a member of a Philateslist nazi association and a fan of Jazz , it is possible i decide to not include in my biography :) (but look my video)

Excellent work, Greg. Many thanks for your efforts and please keep up the great work.

I have a copy of this book and it will surely serve as a reliable reference on the topic, covering a broad range of diverse personalities in considerable detail. Fluency in the French language would be helpful (and I only took one year of French in high school) but much of the terminology is naturally in German and will be familiar to most of us with an interest in the topic. It contains numerous photos I haven't seen before.

Can't wait to see the next volume!

Sincerely,
~ Mike

Thanks, it's a nice compliment coming from you  . My book is not a photo book because copyright issues are complicated. But I try to include at least one or two, especially for little known generals. I hope the part 2 will be released in one year maximum (but I must work on France books on Milice etc)
