Just received, excellent book, superb maps, which is a problem for so many modern books but, fortunately, not for this one! Thank you Mr. Russel,

My pleasure. I hope you enjoy the book and, if you do, would welcome an Amazon review - assuming you bought it through that site. Best wishes and keep well. John

Not from Amazon. I made a pre-order but it was not fulfilled and released date was pushed to later time. I got my copy from Casemat directly

Hi JDKR,

The first things I look for in military campaign books are the maps.

Without adequate maps the text is in a spatial vacuum.

You seem to have passed that test extremely well.

Congratulations,

Sid.

I'm currently about 70 pages in to it and it is very well written and a book I struggle to put down (which isn't great when I have to be up at 0330 for work!) Goes in to a lot of unit details without becoming a dry read and which helps to set the scene very well. The regular use of maps and diagrams, and the reference in the text to the relevant image, stops you from becoming lost with what the narrative is telling you and means you are not having to continuously flick back 20 or more pages to recheck what the map shows as you read the passages. A solid 5 out of 5 so far.

Sid - many thanks for your kind words. You're absolutely right about mapping and too often it is insufficient, probably due to costs. For this reason I taught myself to use cartography software so that I would not be similarly constrained. Hope you enjoy the read. Best wishes. John

Many thanks hucks 216 and I'm delighted that you have enjoyed it up to page 70! Hopefully you will still be giving it 5/5 by the time you reach page 471, the last page of text. Best wishes. John
