This is a reprint of a 1943 obscure book, ‘Sommer 1943’, which focused on the campaigns of Kursk and the Mius for the men of the Totenkopf Division. The book was written by the war correspondents that accompanied the men of Totenkopf in those days and it has a ‘being there’ feel to the text.
The book is bi-lingual, English and German languages, and comes with a Foreword from Werner Volkner who was with them during that time frame. Werner sadly passed away in 2020, but this is timed to mark his birthday (14th March).

Dies ist ein Nachdruck eines obskuren Buches von 1943, "Sommer 1943", das sich auf die Kampagnen von Kursk und Mius für die Männer der Totenkopf-Division konzentrierte. Das Buch wurde von den Kriegskorrespondenten geschrieben, die damals die Männer von Totenkopf begleiteten, und es hat das Gefühl, dort zu sein.
