Hello

In the preface to volume 4, published in 2000, another fifth volume is mentioned. Does anyone know if this volume ever appeared?

Has a fifth volume even appeared, as far as I know, not.

Hello

Only these four volumes have been published, but more were probably planned, see the preface in volume 4

I don't think volume 5 is to be expected. It would have been interesting to know what sources the work is based on.
Enquiry in the Freiburg archive is still ongoing

Hallo

Hi UlrichH,

Then, we're curious about a possible answer from there, which probably won't happen... :?

Hello

One step further, both authors have long since passed away and nothing is known about the whereabouts of the bequest or the documents. There is a rumour, but I will not comment on that.
I guess we will have to be satisfied with the books that exist/have been published.

Hello,

Can you please explain what are in these books by Biblio? It translates to Troop Identification, but that doesn’t tell me anything? Thank you

Hello

The four books deal with an overview of the troop markings 1939-1945 that were on vehicles, aircraft, ships.
Wehrmacht,, Luftwaffe, Navy, Waffen-SS

A fifth volume was supposed to be published, but this never happened. It was probably a listing of sources

Hi Uli,

Oh okay, thank you very much for that, much appreciated! It seems Biblio didn’t finish a lot of book series before closing shop? I was hoping they would have continued with the Heer Generals, but stopped after the letter L. This is one of the reasons why I wrote a three volume set on “Generals and Admirals of the Wehrmacht”! It covers all four branches of service in 3 volumes, easy to read and understanding, as well as obtain at an affordable price.

Best,
Erich
