Any good bio of Rommel or Montgomery should include a nice narration of the Battle...

how about Lon Latimer's Alamein
any insights?

are there any other worthy books on this subject?

I would recommend the one by Colin Smith and Tim (?) Bierman.

I read it a month or so ago and I think that it combines information and anecdotes in a readable style. And the maps aren't bad either.

I know it is an old thread. I am looking for a recommended book on El Alamein. Appears to be at least a dozen on Amazon. Something which is battalion or regiment level please.
