For an excellent overview, see if you can find a copy of Panzer A Revolution in Warfare, 1939-45 by Roger Edwards (Originally published by Arms & Armour in 1989, but mine is an "end run" Brockhampton Press edition from 1998.). Individual divisional histories (Panzer, Inf. Div. (Mot.), Pz. Gren. and SS.) are included, as well as the histories of the Panzerarmees. Maps are very basic, but at least they explain what was going on!

Hey guys!
I will have to agree with the already mentioned "The Panzers And the Battle Of Normandy" and "Panzer-A Revolution In Warfare" these are good books. Other favorites of mine and equally good books include "Panzertruppen Volume One and Two", "Steel Inferno", "Men Of Steel", "Sons Of The Reich", "Knights Of The Black Cross" and "Panzer Division-The Mailed Fist". While not strictly about the Panzers, "Decision In The Ukraine" and "Normandy" offer plenty of information about the Panzers and the Panzer Divisions.
The book "Panzerkrieg" is a decent book, but there are a few little errors. At least the authors attempt to correct the old myth about Prokhorovka in it, though. But see this old post of mine about their strange comment on the Commander's Cupola and it's relation to the revolving turret. Hmmmm...???
