George H. Stein

Post by Mike R » 16 Jul 2002 04:18

In the same vein as the topic about the author Charles Whiting, I am wondering if anybody has heard of George H. STein or the Great Lives Observed book series published by Prentice-Hall ~1968.
Digging through some old books of mine buried in the basement, I came across a small (183 pages, including index) biography of Hitler simply titled Hitler, edited by George H. Stein. I haven't started to read it yet, I am still trying to finish up Strong Men Armed by Robert Leckie (completely irrelevant to the topic :) ). Anybody know anything??

He is no doubt the same George who wrote "The Waffen SS: Hitler's Elite Guard at War 1939-1945" back in 1966

Would you recommend "The Waffen SS: Hitler's Elite Guard at War 1939-1945" Marcus? Is there anything else by Stein you might recommend?

Mike,

It was the first book I read on the Waffen-SS and it was a good introduction to the topic, so if that is what you are looking for it might be a good choice.
