Seppo Jyrkinen: Juutalaispakolaiset ja holokaustiin havahtuminen 1942

Finnish authorities made two trials to get 150 Jewish refugee to Sweden in the end of 1942. Especially ambassador Wasastjerna in Stockholm was active. Those trials were rejected by Swedish authorities who, prime minister P.A.Hansson included, didn't accept Jews from Finland. Refugees from Norway were anyhow accepted.

There is reason to believe, that this had a connection to wake-up to holocaust. Three members of the inner circle (Ryti, Tanner and Mannerheim) had unofficial channels to West. Two months earlier Finland's policy according to political commissars and Jewish POWs had changed.

Book concentrates to the issue only, without general holocaust description. Size 15.000 words, 23 pictures (several wartime documents), 43 sources and 93 references.

E-book is available in Finnish language only: http://kustannusaarni.fi/seppo-jyrkinen ... inen-1942/

I have just published my first book 'We shall fight them. Defeating Operation Sealion: the British armed forces and the defence of the United Kingdom' through CompletelyNovel.com.

This work is the culmination of many years research into the factual position of the British forces in September 1940, based on records held largely in the National Archives and Imperial War Museum. It draws heavily on the excellent work of Peter Schenk to provide much of the German plans and dispositions. It does not prophesise an outcome but should leave the reader with a better, concise, awareness of the facts.

Cover of UBoat Book JPeg Photo.jpg
UBoats in the Bahamas has just been published by Bricktower Press of NYC in hardcover and on Amazon through Ingram. The author, Capt. Eric T. Wiberg, grew up in Nassau and has graduate degrees in maritime law and marine affairs. He has operated 100+ yachts (globally) and 9 tankers (from Singapore) over 25 years. This is his 5th book on Amazon.

After 7 years of research of primary sources and witness interviews this groundbreaking non fiction explains a new WWII theater of over a million square miles. 112 Italian and German submarines sank 130 allied ships there from schooners to a 11,000 ton tanker. 6,000 men were thrown into the sea and over 300 made it ashore to be welcomed in Nassau by the Duchess of Windsor whose husband the governor of Bahamas had been King Edward VIII. Two men, a Norwegian in Abaco and an African-American steward, are buried in Bahamas. The author found original records in the UK DC Nassau Germany and Canada as well as numerous survivor accounts from the US Holland Sweden Greece and beyond. Next in the trilogy will be:

UBoats off Bermuda - 2016, http://www.uboatsbermuda.blogspot.com
UBoats off New England - 2017, http://Www.uboatsnewengland.blogspot.com
Drifting to the Duchess - 2017, the story of U-153 and the 39 day 49 man survival saga of the SS Potlatch to the Bahamas in 1942.
