My fourteen-plus-year book project For Purpose of Service Test has been re-titled as American Thunder: U.S. Army Tank Design, Development, and Doctrine in World War II.
 Fantastic job, Richard!

Is in your book anything on the M22 Locust and its Littlejohn adaptor?

Yes, I do cover the T9E1 and M22 development. However, I didn't mention the Littlejohn adapter although I probably should. Space is an issue now but I may try to add a paragraph about it.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I think that it would be good to know if the American engineers were consultants at this Littlejohn adapter for Locust.

Congratulations!
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

Tom

Congratulations on your book! It’s always hard to find books on Customs during that era. I still have an issue of “Military Advisor” (Bender Publishing) that shows and explains all of their rank insignia. I’ll definitely have to buy this book!

As of September 20 my new book, The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942 (2nd Edition) is officially available. My publisher, McFarland & Company, is currently accepting orders and shipping copies. It should also be available shortly on Amazon. This is a much larger, comprehensive and far more detailed 2nd Edition of my first book which appeared in 2006.

I published a book last year on the German and Italian POWs kept in Western Australia 1943-1946, called Marrinup, a Cage in the Bush, a comprehensive documentation of the WW2 experience from both sides of the wire. A little known event, but an important one that assisted Australia's war effort and certainly demonstrates the fair and humane treatment of POWs.
