Power requirements for German SIGINT installations

#1

Post by Bertill622 » 29 Nov 2017, 00:47

Evening all!

I gathered all my questions on German Radar, Peil and Horch Stelle together. ( In the Netherlands.)
And I wonder how much power, in KW, was needed to operate for example a Horch Stelle, stationary and mobile.
If anyone could point me to good source or info, thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Bertill.

Listening posts are equipped with receivers, which require very little power, certainly not enough that it would be measured in kilowatts. Only transmitters need a lot of power.

Rob, thank you for your reply!

Yes, I agree with you.
But. There were also supporting troops. Sure, it depends of the total amount of the troops.
And if local power is not available, there would be a generator provision (Maschinnesatz) And off course watersupply, first aid, storage, and so on.
Certainly if troops were stationed for more than just a few months at one location.

I am building a database of all German radar and Sigint locations in Holland.
So some questions rise to the surface.

Best regards,
Bertill.
