Hi Guys,
One of the Austrian vehicles taken over by the Germans in 1938 was the ADMK Mulus, a small wheel-cum-track load carrier designed for mountain terrain.
How many were produced?
Were any used on operations by Austrian-raiused mountain divisions, such as the 2nd and 3rd?
Many thanks for any help,
Sid.
Was the ADMK Mulus used on operations by Austrian-raised mountain divisions of the Wehrmacht?

Hi Sid,
here the information out of the book "Historic Military Vehicles Directory" by Bart Vanderveen:
"Machine-gun carrier, built during 1935 - 38 (total 334 units; 302 of them in 1936). Several variants were developed and built."
Please, have a look on this site: http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_ ... -wark.html
On the first pic there are mountain infantrymen on the vehicle.
Here another interesting pic: training for the operation "Sea lion" in Holland.

Hi SIS 5,
Thanks.
The photo is interesting. If it shows preparations for Operation Sealion against the UK, and if the unit shown is from a mountain division, then it is probably part of 1st Mountain Division, which was not Austrian-raised.
This makes it look as though the Austrian designed and built Mulus was distributed around more than just the Austrian-raised 2nd and 3rd Mountain Divisions.
This then leads to the question as to whether it is shown on any Orbats as a standard issue vehicle?
Cheers,
Sid.

Hi Sid,
You are right with the 1st Mountain Division. I have found another pic with an ADMK vehicle in the booklet Waffen-Arsenal Band 189 "Zugfahrzeuge für Geschütze der Wehrmacht 1935 - 1945" by Fred Koch with the following text: "Fahrzeug mit 4,7-cm-Pak (Böhler) bei der 1. Gebirgs-Division, während der Vorbereitungen 1940/41 auf die als Operation "Seelöwe" geplante Besetzung Englands."
