Taking a modern radio back to 1944

After WW2, the MW, LW and SW bands until 10 years ago were overflowing with stations. Thanks to the internet and cellphones today they are almost deserted, with only FM thriving.

If one would take a regular multiband radio of today back to 1944, what chatter, music, and signals would one be able to pick up on AM and FM apart from the BBC, Tokyo Rose and Rundfunk: pilot chatter, walkie talkies at Omaha Beach, spies sending morse code, Gee and Oboe, Luftwaffe nighfighter exultations, homing beacons, U Boats reporting in, RN long range, radar etc etc?

How crowded would the radio bands have been in 1944?

A cheap, modern (i.e., SDR-based, multiband is an obsolete technology) radio with a proper antenna would be able to pick up and (connected to a computer) record everything.

The radio bands weren't that crowded because ham radio was banned everywhere, so amateur radio bands were empty.
