This thread is so so helpful in correctly identifying RF eqpts. I am still looking for a complete EM14.

Hi all,

I found these images on Ebay and I need your help to Id. correctly this optical equipment:

Image 1: Leitrichtgerät stellung. What was the purpose of this device?
Image 2: binoculars. Which was the name of this device?

Thanks in advance. Regards Sturm78
The top picture (see pg 2 of the thread if it didn't reproduce here) is a Flak Folge Gerät. It is a target tracking device that automatically calculates the speed and bearing of the target aircraft. Used in conjunction with a rangefinder, you get the data necessary to aim heavy flak guns at a target aircraft.

Hi all,

Does anyone know the correct designation and purpose of this optical equipment?

See also Pag.2 of this thread. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 3&start=15

It's a Leitrichtgerät . It is used with (usually) 4 meter Em 34-36 stereoscopic rangefinder. The Leirichtgerät is for bearing and elevation data and used together, gives the position of the target in the sky.

Most likely it is an electric optical Flakviser 38

Details of the carriage identify the gun as the 2 cm Flak 30 and so the sight is Flakvisier 35 indeed. ;)
