Hi all,

I need help with this Italian AA fire director.
See also the image posted here on 30 Jan 2015 and 07 Apr 2012. It seems a fixed model, maybe for coastal AA batteries....

I know the following Italian fire director models:

Mod.37 GALA
Mod.40 GAMMA (Hungarian GAMMA-Juhász)
Mod.41 BGS

The fire director of my image is none of these models. Any idea ?? :?

Dragons Hunter,

Very useful information, thanks.
Can you confirm that the manufacturer is San Giorgio from Genova?

I know of a San Giorgio Centrale Anti Aerea Tipo 'G I'

See attachement from TM 30-246.

yes, I can confirm: it's a San Giorgio from Genova. The Type G can be used in two ways: anti aircraft and for coastal defence with coastal guns. It was in use by Italian Royal Navy in their batteries.

can someone help me indentifiing this fire predictor, kommandogerät? This photo is taken in Genoa. In that place there were two different batteries: anti aircraft and for coastal defence. I think that is a German fire predictor but not sure.

Thank you very much for your help, Dragons Hunter

About you last image, I think not German. Probably some Italian model...but I had never seen it...

How did German land AA directors compare to that of the British, Japanese, Americans, etc?

I know the Germans were know for having a focus on AA, although that does not mean they were good.

Sturm,

Small excerpt from 'Marine-Flak-Artillerie’ by Alain Chazette and Alain Le Roux, page 14:

Kdo.Ger. = Em6mR + Dreiwag (Em on device)
Kdo.Ger. = Em6mR + Kleinkog CV
Kdo.Ger. 41 = Em6mR + Rechengerät 40M
Kdo.Ger. 41 = Em6mR + Flakrechner 41
Kdo.Ger. 42 = Em6mR + Flakrechner 42

It seems that the Kriegsmarine used identical names for different combinations of components.
Rather confusing...

What I know of Luftwaffe designations:
Kdo.Ger. 41, a Kdo.Ger. 40 modified for use with 8,8cm Flak 41
Kdo.Ger. 42, a Rechengerat used on Flaktowers, connected to a remote Em10mR 43

Unfortunately I have no further details.
Ger

Hi,
I am Arthur Le Roux (not Alain), one of the authors of the book.
We indeed found several combination of materials under the same name. The presented results are a bit progress in the knowledge but many points remains unclear. Maybe further researches in BA would provide more documentation able to clarify the topic.
For the Dreiwag, I'm convinced that no, it is not the Kdo. G. 41.
Best regards

Hi all,

An image from Ebay: I think a Dreiwag fire director. A pity that most of the device is hidden
Any additional image of these devices will be welcome
