German field radios
Re: German field radios
Thank you, Bert
Here, another image from EBay.
I think the device situated in the center of the image is a Lorenz T36Lo Fernschreiber teletype.
Any idea about the other two equipments ??

Re: German field radios
The previous photograph shows two "Fernschreibanschlussgeräte" or telex modums. These allow the telex machines to be connected to the phone line. The last photograph shows the Torn.Fu.a, made by Lorenz from 1933. It still uses a crystal (seen just under the antenna current meter top right) to stabilise the transmitter frequency. A later version with a more stable variable frequency oscillator was the Torn.Fu.a2, which was used by the police and security forces during the 1936 olymplics. Further development eventually led to the Torn.Fu.b1 family.

Re: German field radios
This last one is a bit of a mystery, it looks a bit like an early Telefunken set, with some atypical features. It is certianly not of a type that I have come across. It seems to have a seperate transmitter and receiver module mounted in one large box. To the left of it stands a Telefunken E445Bs "Tornisterempfänger", to the right is probably the power supply for the mystery transmitter/receiver unit.

Re: German field radios
No, the DR78 was built by Philips for the German Kriegsmarine. The main German manufacturers of portable radio equipment were fully dedicated to supplying the Wehrmacht leaving the Kriegsmarine to source many of their portable radio sets from minor and foreign suppliers.
