Re: German field radios
My best guess on the left hand equipment is an 15 W.S.E transmitter receiver. Source is TM E-11-227 Signal Communication Equipment Directory - German Radio Communication Equipment 1944, pg 4.

The equipment on the right is a Torn E.b. receiver.

Re: German field radios
No chance. The photo is at too much of an angle to see the components well enough to identify their features.

Re: German field radios
Hi Sturm 78,
You know that I´m no expert in radios. I´m rather sure that You are right that it is a 20 W. S. d transmitter. I think I could find a drawing and the explanation for the use of this radio in the Waffen-Arsenal Band 178 "Funkgeräte in gepanzerten Fahrzeugen der Wehrmacht" by Fred Koch. It is correct that this set was used in armoured vehicles or tanks. It was used in these vehicles to set up the direct contact with airplanes, which were used as close-range reconnaissance aircrafts. B.t.w. the soldiers on Your pic are from the Luftwaffe. Maybe the Luftwaffe also used this radio set to set up contact to armoured vehicles/tanks or aircrafts.
Best regards
Bert
