Thank you for your answers, Emmanuel and Clive.

French sound locator, Sautter Harlé probably, therefore.

Here, a curious image of Bundesarchive: Tellerminen 42.

Any ideas about my image posted on 21 Feb 2011?

I agree with Emmanuel, it looks similar but not the same. Could it be the Type B Mle 1934 Sautter Harlé "télésitemètre"?
Clive,

I doublechecked on a French forum and obtained the following information from French experts (incl.François Vauvilliers) : there were two « télésitemètres Mle 1934 » in France but only the Type S was made by Sautter-Harlé. The type B was made by Barbier-Bénard-Turenne a.k.a BBT. (So the letter stood for the manufacturer as we also find with French tanks).

However, the BBT unit had round « ears » and, thus, looked totally different from the Type S.

Emmanuel

Erratum : please read « François Vauvillier » (no « s »).

Thank you,

Emmanuel

Ji all,

I found these images on Ebay.
It is a RRH Horchgerät sound locator of german origin on a not standard trailer. The standard german trailer for this equipment was the Sd.Ah.104 with detachable axles. I think the export searchlights and sound locators used this two-axle trailer with no-detachable axles.

I think the soldiers are not german. Romanian soldiers maybe??

Thank you for your image, Luftflotte2

You can see very well the different models of trailers for the RRH sound locators
