The U-Boot museum in Bremerhaven, is quite a wonderful restoration effort on the part of the Schiffahrts museum. You can go from bow to stern in the Willhelm Bauer. Quite a visit.

This is from the Naval Academy museum, in Annapolis, Maryland, where all U.S wars have a section, including the Revolutionary War, and I include some pictures from the WWII exhibit.

Hi folks, here's the website for a WWII AFV and Small Arms museum in Hubbard, Ohio. Quite a great place for the Allied Vehicle enthusiasts:

There is a nice museum in Ostend on the Belgian coast. The main theme is the "Atlantikwal". You can walk through the trenches, from bunker to bunker. In these bunkers are scenes from life in the Atlantikwal. Next to these bunkers are a few guns such as the 75mm Pak, 20mm Flak and a 37mm anti-tank gun with a grenade on the nozzle.

It is situated on "Domein Raversijde" not far from Ostend Airport.
I haven't got the exact adress though it is somewhere along the "Nieuwpoortsesteenweg", halfway between Oostende and Middelkerke.

War Museum in Helsinki

Post by arlovi31 » 12 Sep 2003, 17:35

I went to Helsinki (Finland) in the beginning of August and I visited the War Museum (or Army Museum). They don't have a website I think but it's really worth a visit as it is really splendid. Dietl's uniform is exposed there as well as a lot of other german material (uniforms, medals, weapons,...).

Here's a link with a few photos of a panzer : http://www.track-link.net/image_lib/293

the Wewelsburg. It becomes an big museum with many background informations about the castle and you can sleep in the old walls because it is an youth hostle in it. I spend one week there for studing the background and the feeling!
