Did Fallschirmjäger wear Tornisters of any type during the War?

Post by henryschmoeger » 10 Jan 2018 01:29

I know this is an extremely stupid question, but I can't seem to find any answers to it. My impression, which centres around FJR6 (and a few other Regiments), is there or thereabouts complete, except from a quality original Tornister, which I have steered away from buying. You'd think that since FJ carried a lighter load than the average squaddie, wearing a Tornister whilst jumping out a plane probably wouldn't have aided their swift journey back to ground level, but who knows! If they were willing to design the M38 Helmet especially for them, I presume anything is possible to be quite frank!

Any help would be much appreciated.
