Simplified stencil version of a "motorized infantry platoon"? In this case the second (roman numeral 2). Only a guess...

The II beside the motorised infantry sign would indicate that it is the 2nd HQ Abteilung of a motorised infantry regiment.

Because no single vehicle would belong to an entire battalion, the symbol is there to indicate which part of the battalion the vehicle belongs to and so has a number beside it, had that number been an Arabic numeral it would have indicated the company within the battalion, because it is a Roman numeral it indicates the command element of that battalion.

Thank you Alanmccoubrey for your explanation.
It fits with my supposition that is the car on which was travelling the commander of II battalion 16-SSRF division.
Thank you
