Pionier Hand Saw Information Wanted

I am looking for information on the German pionier hand saw, more specifically who in a pionier squad would wear it. I have a chance to get one which I'd like to use for reenacting, however nobody in my unit is entirely sure who would carry the saw, and it may take a while to look through our original documents.
