S/245 3572a bayonet

Post by Deci » 05 Jan 2019 13:18

I have a bayonet and I can't identify if the axis used it or the time period used in. Found it in a garage.
The serial code is either s/245 3572a or s/243 3572a

It’s most likely a S/245. J.Sch. - Jetter und Scheerer, Tuttlingen

S/243 is marked for K98 rifle while S/245 is for bayonet.

1936~1938 manufacture date

Most likely a pre-ww2 bayonet.
3572 a is most likely a serial number, a 3572th bayonet, first batch maybe for “a”? I am still unsure about the letter after the 4 digit number yet

"a" will be the second 10000. The first 10000 had no letter suffix.
