Could someone help me with the question what kind of device these Luftwaffe soldiers are handling? What is it and where was it used for.

I was wondering if it could be a Leuchtfeuer or Funkfeuer ?
(possibly not original German, but seized by the Germans).
The device is being hold straight with lines and in it, there seems to be some kind of engine or other machinery.
