Kraftfahrzeug 305 (Kfz. 305)

Post by Kanthe86 » 24 Sep 2023 13:45

Good day to all,

I also want to create a topic here and hope that it has some interesting content for some.
On the german Wikipedia I wrote an article about the Kfz. 305.
Unfortunately I could not fill all the gaps, because there were no regulations or free usable photos.
Nevertheless I hope you like the article.
You are welcome to send me ideas, improvements or, if you have them, regulations about the vehicles.
I would be very happy.

Here is the link: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kfz._305

with kind regards
Dominik

Hi Dominik,

here is my reply:
first about the Daimler- Benz LGF 3000. I cannot imagine, that a LC-box was put on the chassis of this vehicle. It is a truck with three axes and was only produced until 1938. I have never seen a photo of this vehicle with a LC-box. But here a pic of a Daimler-Benz type LG 3000 with a clodes superstructure, a special fire engine. Source of this photo: "Feuerwehrfahrzeuge im Einsatz 1939 - 1945" by Michael Foedrowitz.
There are three pics of Opel 3 t S of the Sicherheits- und Hilfsdienst (SHD) with the LC-Koffer. On the first pic a vehicle with the abbreviation E. Kw. 500. Maybe that´s the designation for this vehicle in the Sicherheits- und Hilfsdienst (SHD). According to Your list it is an "Entgiftungskraftwagen Kfz. 305/122.
In addition two pics of Opel with LC-Koffer, also of the Sicherheits- und Hilfsdienst (SHD), but there is no specified information about these vehicles.
That´s all for today

Regards

Bert

Hi Dominik,

here four pics out of the book "Opel Militärfahrzeuge 1906 - 1956" by Eckhart Bartels. Maybe they are interesting for You.
The first pic could also be a vehicle of the Sicherheits- und Hilfsdienst (SHD) with the abbreviation IG. Kw. 250. It looks like the type Kfz. 305/120.
On the second pic an Opel 3 to A with a LC-Koffer with the following text: "Einheitskofferaufbau für FR-Ersatzteile (EW234) in Sparausführung von 1943".
Third pic an Opel 3 to A of the Heer in Northern Africa - Tunis.
Fourth pic a LC-Koffer on a Gleisketten-Lastkraftwagen-2-t "Maultier" (Sd. Kfz. 3/4) of the Heer with the text: "Einheitskofferaufbau für Kabelverlegung".

Regards

Bert

Hi Dominik,

great, that the pics are interesting for You. Here more pics of Opel trucks with the Einheitskoffer, all out of the booklet "Opel Blitz 3-Tonner" by Henry Hoppe:
first two pics of the ambulance version.
There is a text about the Einheitskofffer:
"The initial production variant was still on the production line in 1944, albeit for ambulance versions only."
I don´t agrre with this statement. When You have a look on the second pic I have posted (Kw für FR-Ersatzteile ), then You can recognize the simplification in production with omitted mudguards of the rear wheels.

Best regards

Bert

Hi Dominik,

now pics of the Opel 3 t A version with the Einheitskoffer.
Interesting, that there were different versions of the roof.
Here also a text out of this booklet:
"As early as 1942 the first simplified versions of the Einheitskoffer showed up, only fitted to the Allrad. One version featured a body stretched in height (here pic 3), while on the standard version the roof was nearly in one level with the windows (here pic 2)."

Hi Dominik,

now pics of the Opel 3 t S version with the Einheitskoffer.I think that there are radio vehicles on the first two pics (Kfz. 305 / 15 - 16 - 17 0or 18).
Here also a text out of this booklet:
"On many trucks with Einheitskoffer bodie the purpose for which these were employed can often not be verified when looking at the exterior alone. The truck on the picture (here the fourth picture) reveals its identity by the writing on the body, it is a radio test station (Funkprüfwagen). On the other hand, the purpose of truck seen on the last picture is only guesswork."
My guesswork: it could be a mobile field kitchen because of the chimney and the women as kitchen helpers.

Best regards

Bert
