And can we find out the year of production? I found binoculars similar to mine and it was made in 1930. But there is an eagle on my binoculars so I dont know if it is possible...

I have a set of binoculars, I would like some information about them'

Here is the information,
On left sight are the letters...bmi and under that the letters KF

On the right sight there is Dienstglas, under that, 6x30, under that...446673. Under that H/6400

They are black in color, the paint slightly worn, the case is heavy duty and Black w/leather straps on back. two silver rings on box just below the lid and it attaches with a strap that has a pull down hing that you attach to a rivit-like pin to sungly close it with.

The sights and viewing are excellent.

What can you tell me about these?

Michael.

My set is marked:

(right)
Dienstglas
7x50
345359
M

(left)
beh
KF

Black, leather, with just the remnants of a leather stap. Hope this info is of use.

They were given me by my step-father, a GI, who brought them back from Germany after the war.

I never knew my old beat up Binoculars were anything but old beat up binoculars !!

I have a set marked
on the right; Dienstglas 6 x 30 209895 M H/6400

on the left; E LEITZ WETZLAR

With a leather like finish and black paint, but I Don't see any other markings.

CAN YOU ACTUALLY GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ON WHERE THESE CAME FROM ?? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !!

Xavier :

question: looks like I might be picking up a 10 x 50 with roof prisim and case marked bmj 1943, eagle and Wa stamped on the case. Bino's marking 533265. No eagle or K or M on the Bino's. would these Binos have any chance seeing Kriegsmarine service, or along the lines of a field unit/Panzer ? Case is blue black in great shape it appears.

many thanks, hopeful you will or someone else see this for comment(s).

I dont think km or marine service, but more inclined to field (heer) service since it has the bmj code and acceptance stamps on the case (military issue) black or tan? (binos)
also, check inside the case hood for the original set of filters, if possible :D

IMHO roof prism binos are the best, my everyday ones are a set of zeiss rubber armoured 8x56's...but are moredifficult to maintain in working order (clean, collimate, etc)

best regards

I was going thru my files, to check on it..since there is no record of distribution, anything goes, but going through my visual reference, chances, I would say, 80% panzer-armoured unit, 20% Luftwaffe unit
also, please check with forum member Cool-E he seems more versed on this than me... :D
