Hi,
It is an optical device used to check the tracking accuracy of the radar. On the Würzburg it is a simple "ring-and-bead sight".

Hi SES
Hi Everybody

I'm new here and have just discovered your post dated 05.7.2009 with the photo hereunder:

Image

I know this position quite well as I am living very near to it.
Location:
France, northern coast of Brittany / Department: Finistère / Village name: Plougasnou / Exact place name: Kerhouin.
Position code is 7 KVA A2 / KVGr Morlaix / Wn Mo 56b.
What can be seen on this pic is the western part of the site which is fully under construction.
The radar on the right side of the pic is in fact much bigger, as it is a FUMo 52 Mammut Cäsar.
The bunker near to it is not built yet.

My question is:
Would you by any chance have other pics from this area?
And/or this one in higher resolution?

They would be HIGHLY appreciated!

Best regards
OdoHerr

Hi OdoHerr,
Thank you very much. That is Stellung MOLCH, please see:
http://www.gyges.dk/Stellungen%20France ... nt%207.pdf
but as far as I know it did not have a Was S, but only a Mammut.
But judging from GE you location certainly looks right.
Have you been to the site and can you confirm the pressence of a L 480?

Hi SES

I have been numerous times on this site (of which few things remain today)
and I can say that no L 480 was ever built here.

Hi,
I kind of suspected that. In that case there was no Wassermann S either, and the identification of the location is not the one given by you. Sorry.

Hi Paul,
Nice X-mas puzzle.
My two cents on . . . ekarte is Lagekarte. And I agree on the S-Tisch. The mast could be sendemast. Which Stellung are we talking about, this could give a pointer to equipment and functionality.

If it is in the FLUKO raum it could be a plotting table one for each FLUWA. Couldn't Betreib be translated as "operation"?
