How many radar positions were in Denmark??

Did the luftwaffe use any other "special equipment" like WotanII, Knickebein, or "leitstrahlfächerfeuer" ??

I am sorry, but it is not the foundation for a W-R but a seldom seen tower for a Freya-Flamme.

This is the Luftwaffe radar at Blåvand (Büffel Stellung) in 1945.

The picture is not from Büffel which is 1,5 km north, but from the WM FuMO-Stellung BAUN and it depicts a FuMO 214 See-Riese.

Hi Erik.
Interesting bunkers, do you have drawings?

Hello SES

Glad to see you in this forum, then we can get some facts straight !!!

I personally just had found out ( Reading your book Radar Stations in Denmark 1942 - 1942 - ( The "Great yellow one" ) that it was not a WR in Ringelnatter, but thats already corrected, thanks.

I hope you will contribute to this discussion - and give us some of your knowledge - i sure hope so !!

But - welcone in "the discussion"

The picture is most likely from Fanø, but it is simmilar to the one in Batterie Femhøje, a Funkmessgerät Typ. Freya - with two antennasystems, one for horisontal and one for vertikal use ( height and sidewards )

The picture is from Femhøje and depicts a Flak Leit g, the only sample in Denmark.

The picture depicts a Freya Flamme. There was no Freya A/N in LINDWURM at the end of the war.

Hi Erik.
Interesting bunkers, do you have drawings?
Sorry SES, but I visited this place after some bad weather when they were all flooded..... Someone told me that they use to dry up during the summer, so maybe better luck this year......

I also had a look at your (very nice) web page!

I can inform you that no concrete bunker for JaFü Norwegen exsists, or did ever exist. I am in the closing sessions of a 2 year long reserch for this area, and the only possible location left, is a tunnel made in the hill Jåttånuten, east of Forus. I will hopefully soon recieve the latest documents about this location, and will keep you informed what I find out!

The earlier supposed JaFü bunker turned out to be the Gefechtsstand for "Fliegerhorstkommandantur Forus" 2 R-622 bunkers in the same strongpoint has been identified as "Jägerbereitschafts unterstand" and a new "Horst Gefechtsstand". This leaves nothing left for the Jäfu.....

Lets go on - with a couple of pictures of the radarsite "Helligsø"
Its two pictures of the L480 bunker for the Wassermann S radar that was mounted there.

And to SES - what do you know of this place. Is there anything on the codename - other than "Helligsø", and what else was there at this site ???

I don't know the codename maybe because one possibly never was assigned. As far as we can find out the radar was never mounted. Nice pictures.

Hello all.

Here is some pictures of the Radarsite "Lama" in Thyborøn. It was like the site in Søndervig "ringelnatter" and was build at the same time -
( 1943 ). In Thyborøn there was a lot more Flakbunkers of different types than there were in Søndervig. That was due to the passage through the Limfjord. Thyborøn was very heavy fortified - there were a Luftwaffe site and a Marine site and a HKB present.
The Marine Radarsite, near the LW "Lama" was a Marine radarstellung with a large commandbunker ( Fl241 ) and 2 pcs. R622 - R621 - 2 pcs. R600 - 1 pcs. R656 - and there were 25 larger bunkers in the HKB - and the LW radarsite "Lama" had 18 large bunkers, L487 - R610 - L409A - L410 L411 - L411A - L413 - L412 - R622 - R58c.
The radars was of the types - 1 Wassermann M - 2 Freya - 2 WR - 1 Y-radiopejler.

Here is som pictures from the site. Firts the L487.
