Hi Erwin,
It is a very plausible theory, that is why we cannot not find the site on LW maps or in a LW Gliederung. If it was V-2 related it would have belonged to the Heer. How close is Hellendoorn?

Approximately 60 / 70 km north of Arnhem. However on the path between Hellendoorn and the projected target Antwerpen is Arnhem. Maybe more luck in the SS files since the V2's were deployed by the SS-Werfer-Abteilung 500.

Erwin,
I think you are on to something. On a testing range for V-2 in Poland the W-R was used for tracking.

Panzergenadier wrote:Hello!!! From local people I know that about 10 miles south of the Bulgarian port of Varna there was a German radar station. It was blown up in September 1944 by a partisan group. Due the fact Varna was used by German ships and is near the Romanian border I believe that it was used to intercept naval and air attacks against Bulgaria and Romania, launched by the Soviets.

Hi Panzergrenadier,
I know it has been a long time, but do you have a more precise position?

Mr. Rod Mackenzie, co-author of the Nachtjagd War Diaries Vol. 2 has been kind enough to share part of his research and let me host it on www.gyges.dk . It is a very busy .kmz file depicting multiple details of the Ln.-Dienst. Please see:
http://www.gyges.dk/the_luftnachrichten_dienst.htm
at the start of the page. You can toggle the various layers on and off.

From your site :
Similar arrangements existed in Norway and Denmark.
Do you have any sources to support this ?(Norway)

Any ideas on the type of Wassermann M at "Zander"?
