Hello,

About your question on the German use of Night Vision. Yes in fact the Germans did deploy night vision in World War II combat.

Night vision was first used by the Germans in early 1942. Mounted on the 7.5cm Pak40, it was used to allow the users to be able to drive in the dark while fighting. When on the 7.5cm Pak40 the vision of visibility was only 400 meters, this needed to be increased. So the Germans used night vision on a Sdkfz (the 251/20 Schützenpanzer) and the range of visibilty was increased to 1,400 meters. Also night vision was mounted on a few Panthers and a night vision system was designed to be on the Panther II, but this was never done because the Panther II project came to an end.

Cheers,
Chad
