I couldn't remember which source I read but they used French ships and some English amp. boats.

Ehen Italy fell the used there ship, among others a aircraftcarrier.
But I suppose Italys Weapons allready was German

Some examples: destroyer ZH 1 ( former Dutch ), Norwegian and Polish minelayers, some older Jugoslavian ships. For the rest, mostly smaller minesweepers, MTB's etc. More info at Kriegsmarine Encyclopedia http://www.german-navy.de/
