specifically the surname as I cannot find any Adalbert Richard on the volksbund database.

Adalbert Richard are his first and middle name. Your answer is in 1. Familiename which is Strub, a derivative of STRAUB.

He isn´t mentioned in the grave database of the Volksbund.
An interesting young man, sh.t that he had to die with only 19 years...

I stand corrected. Had a different YOB in mind after a Volksbund grave search.
