Third Reich signatures.
Re: Third Reich signatures.
Difficult to call but that signature may be forged, Bolgini. Get somebody to have a closer look and show them the original.

Unknown General?
Does anyone recognise this signature, or suggest a name please? It is almost certainly the signature of a General.
Thanks,
Max.
Thanks,
Max.
Re: Unknown General?
Hello,
Interesting, but I don´t think that he is a general, because all generals with similar name end with ...ßler.
So, it must be an officer, maybe Dressler or Mussler or similar
Maybe seeing the full doc. (with unit and date) would help...........
Rgds.

Re: Third Reich signatures.
This is the signature on the recommendation for SS-Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen-SS to be awarded the Knights Cross of the War Service Cross with Swords. Therefore it cannot be the signature of an officer below that of General rank. He received the award on 30 October 1944 when he was Chief of the SS-Hauptamt and also Chief of Staff and Permanent Representative of the Chief of the Replacement Army and Chief of Army Armaments. Who would be recommending such a high ranking officer for such a prestigious award in October/November 1944?

Max.

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Solved in another sub-forum on AHF. It is Siegfried Grässler, Jüttner's adjutant! Talk about looking after your own! Probably written by Jüttner himself.

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Is it Georg Escherich?
Escherich, Schweyer & von Epp are all listed here:
http://self.gutenberg.org/article/WHEBN ... n%20People
And an entry in Wiki mentions a link with von Epp:
In May 1919 the Freikorps fought against the Bavarian Soviet Republic. Parts of the Freikorps were together with Freikorps Epp Franz Ritter von Epp taken to the Reichswehr brigade 21; they fought in 1920 in the Occupation of the Ruhr. The Freikorps itself was dissolved on 21 October 1919. However, all members went to Organization Escherich (Georg Escherich).

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Awesome thank you so much!
Re: Third Reich signatures.
I'm not sure where to post this so I will post it here to start with. I am wondering if it might be a good idea to try and make up some sort of collection of Third Reich initials. As most of you will know many documents, both political and military, wre initialled before they were sent by somone other than the signatory. Usually another someone in the same department to attest to the fact that the signatory had actually signed the document. Similarly incoming documents were initialled by people who had seen/read the document as it passed through various branches or departments of the organisation. Sometimes those people made additional annotations. Personally I always think it is interesting to know exactly which people have seen a particular document. Over the years I have made a note of these people where I can identify them. It isn't always easy for obvious reasons. Sometimes I identify an initial and then a year or so later when I see the initial again I have forgotten who the person is. My question is: Are there enough people out there who would have an interest in developing such a topic. I was thinking primarily of identifying those individuals who initial SS and Armed Forces documents at a senior level. I am attaching a few initials I have identified in the past and a couple I do not currently recognise to give you an idea of exactly what I am talking about. All comments appreciated. If there's enough interest perhaps we can give it a go. The blue initial on the Himmler duo is Schmitt again.
Re: Third Reich signatures.
Can anyone help with identifying the signatory of this letter, the Leiter des Ministeramtes in Seyss-Inquart's office?
Any assistance /suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Thank you Armin. Very grateful. I think he is Kurt Baron Haller Von Hallerstein . There is some biographical material on the forum but nothing concrete from the beginning of the war although he seems to have acted as Seyss- Inquart's secretary in 1941 and buried a million dollars worth of jewellry etc in Garmish at the end of the war.
