SS Ausweis

Post by JoeW » 02 Sep 2020, 06:04

How many and what were the various Ausweis issued to men and women, SS members, employees and any others? There was of course the SS-Führer Ausweis. Was there a similar one for SS-Unterführers? Perhaps images of examples?

Well, I suppose this was not a very interesting thread as I posted as just a question. Pehaps if I started with those I have seen.
Here is an example of a Dienstausweis used by the RSHA. I believe it was referred to as a Red Ausweis. But there were other Dienstausweis?
And of course we have seen an example of the SS-Führerausweis in the Dr. Max Werner thread. And finally, I have this image of a KL Ausweis for a female. Any other examples out there?

Good evening JoeW,

all three documents are fakes, typical nonsense, this kind of stuff was already sold in the 1970s on german flea markets,
to uninformed buyers.

In my younger years, I bought several such documents, also on german flea markets, owners of original SS documents
rarely show these documents online, they are auctioned, if at all, or offered by specialists.

Sorry! 8-)

P.S. Maybe suitable as a coaster for a can of beer, for more probably not...

Hey Hans, thanks for your totally uninformed comments. Please explain your comments. Why do you think these are fakes. Were such documents non-existent or do they differ from originals in your expert opinioni,

While I have no real certainty about the lady's Ausweis, the other two are original. I have no idea where you got the idea that such original SS documents are not shown online. The Max Werner Ausweis was shown on this forum here :viewtopic.php?f=38&t=24082&p=2101949&hi ... r#p2101949 And examples like the original Kripo Ausweis above have been displayed on other forums and in many published books. Please post some of your "faked" examples or have you conveniently disposed of them.

Good evening Joe,

nothing important about your documents at all.

Original, or not, just keep on collecting all this...

Good Luck!

Good morning Hans,
Thank you for another totally uninformed post. “Nothing important ....”? Are you serious? Do you not realize the first pictured is an Ausweis issued by the RSHA for use by a member of the Kriminalpolizei. Do you assume these are dome-a-dozen? These are extremely rare and in exceptionl instances can be found with the matching Dienstmarke. Notice the anti-erasure finish of the Ausweis. The RSHA of course issued Ausweis for Gestapo agents.

The 1936 Gestapo Dienstausweis above is just one of many variations issued by them throughout their existence, this being the type issued to Gestapo auxiliaries and issued in accordance with RdErl. d. RFSSuChdDtPol. im RMdI. v. 1.7.36 and 6.8.36.

Here's one taken from a Gestapo man on a hijacked plane from Croatia to Italy in October 1943. It landed at an airbase held by the British.

Steve, what a fantastic post, thank you.

Further proof that these were carried in occupied territories contrary to regulations.

I wonder what happened to the original?

I found only a photograph of the Ausweis. The original is possibly in the archives of a "British Government agency" gathering dust.
Is that Streckenbach's signature signing on behalf of Chef Sipo-SD?
