Re: Third Reich signatures.
There was Major Conrads, apparently officer in charge of Gruppe IIIb in WZA, although on your document I see IIIc ?

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Hello
Since many months I' ve been trying to decipher this name but invain. Maybe You guys will succeed (make it) ?
I can only say that the first word is "Graf" then the difficulty begins with the second name, i. e. what is the first letter ? Is the second letter an "o" or a "s" ? The third a "h" ? What the fourth ? The fifth a "h" or a "f" ? The last "er" or "a" ?
Thanks

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Hello
Is there a rank, branch of service, unit designation with this signature? And do you know the nationality . Is there a date with it?

Re: Third Reich signatures.
He is obviously german, 1944 and Major
At that time he was in an unknown Schule or Lehrgang. Nothing more.
But apart that I wonder why his name is so difficult to decipher. Are here no specialists in german signatures ?

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Nothing is obvious in signatures Rossano! Always best to post in high definition though . Your post is blurred.
Well it seems you couldn't decipher the signature so you obviously don't specialise in German signatures. At least that's obvious!
No doubt you specialise in Italian signatures so perhaps you could help with this one!
Oh! And I think (like Graf!) we can all read ' Antonio'. Narrows it down like 'Graf' does!

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Evidently I am not good in deciphering names, not even italian.
Above it looks like Antonio indeed but the point is not over the guessed i (the point is just over the letter after the o, so it looks more like the french Antoine). The surname looks like Sgru but it has no sense
Even the last 2 names are not so easy, for the first I read Alex Castellani?Cartellani or similar whilst the second is more difficult, maybe Gusmann like in the front of the card ?
Anybody else will try to decipher my name above pls. ?

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Well, it's not difficult to decipher, but as we do not know much about that Major, how do we know which possibility is correct ?But apart that I wonder why his name is so difficult to decipher.
I just glanced at it and to me it looks like Scheher.
Others might have totally different ideas.
Re: Third Reich signatures.
Greg. I agree. Whatever the name how can you verify it without any more information?
Re: Third Reich signatures.
I understand and I agree with You. But to tell You frankly I hoped that in this topic there are german experts in german signatures and consequently that it was enough for me to show the signature (without any addit. info) in order to have the deciphered real name. Scheher could be a possibility (but I found no such a Graf in Internet), but it could be another name. What is the first letter ?
Identity of Kapitan zur see
Can anyone help ID this Kapitan zur see please.
Many thanks
