If that is an authentic Helmut Wick autograph-photo, then you have a real gem! :D Keep it in a nice, safe place. :)

I honestly do not know what the value of a Wick signature would be, but on the second site I posted above, the autographed Knight Cross portrait is being sold for $1095 U.S currency.

Since Wick died during the war (Battle of Britain, over the English Channel) and was not around long enough to sign so many photos and items to make them common, I would imagine your piece would be pretty valueable.

Maybe someone else on the forum has a better idea of a fair value.

Where did you find that picture, by the way? Family item, or did you buy it at a sale?

The photo was part of a collection my grandfather had, there are two other signatures as well. Here is the first ( i am very sure that it is a signatue of werner Mölders ) :

Here is an example of a Moelders autograph from a Knights Cross portrait. The seller is asking $995 for it.

How did your grandfather get the pictures? They are very nice.

Not sure about the signature on the paper. Maybe it is Ernst Udet ?? If so, a plum prize, also!

Two more Ernst Udet signatures to compare with your signature on the paper:

From World War One era, then World War Two:

At first thanks for your Infos :)

I only know that my grandfather was an enthusiastic aviation and luftwaffe fan in the time of the third reich ( he was 17years old, when the war ended ).
After the war he did not talk about his former passion , he felt ashamed for the nazi war crimes and the holocaust, so sadly i only got informations about his youth when he was dead :(

best regards

Definately Ernst Udet. Notice the E, the U, the curls around the D and the ending stroke...
