Re: Members who color photos
Hello,
recently I have been colourising some world war photos and started a facebookpage to present my work at https://www.facebook.com/De-oorlog-in-k ... 3181869105
These are my two most recent photos I've colourised. Both are taken from an album of a soldier who was stationed at Stp. Panther AOK 15 KVA A3, on the 'Hoge Blekker' (highest dune of Belgium) in Coxyde. One photo shows shootingexcercises in in the dunes of Coxyde. The second photo shows two soldiers from the Stp. Panther on a standarised hosecariage of the type HF-7 in front of the stil existing staf building at the foot of the 'Hoge Blekker' on the intersection of the Zeelaan and the Panoramalaan.
Enjoy and feel free to follow my facebookpage for more.

Re: Members who color photos
Larrister,
impressive, I would wish to see one or two photo studio shots of my grandfather at that time in color, as an officer in the Reichsarbeitsdienst.
But that will never be the case, these pictures were taken in black and white, I don't need the pictures in color.
The man would not like that, very certainly not.
For me personally, a matter of respect, you may or may not understand.
Thank you for your work, I really appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply. I understand and respect your views about whether B&W photos should be colored or left in their original format.
As you probably know there are differing views on this subject.
I get many requests to color original WW2 photos. Many are from people who want photos of relatives and loved ones colored.
The main theme is that they want to see a photo of their Uncle or Grandfather etc in "living color". To some coloring a photo brings life to it.
To others the photo should be left in B&W. It all depends on personal taste.
Regards,
Larry

Re: Members who color photos
Thanks Larry,
I have one photo of my mother Ingrid, born in 1935. In this photo little Ingrid was sitting in a polish off-road vehicle
in the Sudetenland in the years before 1945.
The polish off-road vehicle was the official "Dienstwagen" of my grandfather, who served in the Sudetenland as a RAD officer.
At a later date I would like to see this photo in color, that would be a personal wish.
I will then be happy to ask you to colorize this photo later...
Many thanks for your work, and this excellent thread!
